I want to volunteer   I want volunteers

Local Volunteer Centres – Engage’s free match-making service

Our society thrives on a small army of volunteers in our community who generously give up their time, skills and energy. But the process is not just one way. Volunteering can be so rewarding and that is the key to a successful relationship.

At Engage we have been working to place volunteers with local organisations and charities since 2005. Each year we handle hundreds of expressions of interest in volunteering across the Somerset West and Taunton area.

Whether you are an individual wanting to volunteer or a group that needs volunteers, we can help you. Click on the relevant button at the top of the page, give us a call: 01643 707123 or drop us an email: volunteercentre@engagews.org.uk

We can then arrange to meet, chat through your precise requirements and look at potential matching volunteers/opportunities from our extensive volunteering database.

Do-It logoAll volunteering opportunities which have been registered with us by organisations, as well as many posted by organisations themselves,  can be found on the Do-It website’s database which is easily searchable – why not have a look in the meantime? https://do-it.org/opportunities/search

We operate Volunteer Centres at our office in Alcombe, in Taunton Library, at Priorswood Community Centre, in Wellington Library and at Minehead Job Centre. To view details of when and where you can visit, please click here: VC Dates for 2019

Engage in Alcombe

Engage’s trustee board has signed up to the Keep Volunteering Voluntary campaign and adopted the following policy statement:

“As charities and voluntary organisations we know the value of volunteering. Volunteering means people independently choosing to give their time freely to help others and make the world a better place. Workfare schemes force unemployed people to carry out unpaid work or face benefit sanctions that can cause hardship and destitution.  We believe in keeping volunteering voluntary and will not participate in government workfare schemes.”
